BIO
It is great to be a Mississinewa Indian! I am so thankful to be a part of the Indiana Tribe. I started my public school career in Marion Community Schools, where many of my friends and coworkers at MCS were from the Mississinewa/Gas City area. I had visited Gas City several times with family and friends and fell in love with its small town charm. After hearing of a potential opening for MCSC, I felt the desire to take the next step in my career with a district where all students matter. Since being at Mississinewa, I have felt and witnessed that this place is truly a Tribe of Excellence. It is a perfect fit for myself and my family.
I feel led to make an impact through education and servant leadership. Rita Pierson said it best;
“Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”
Supporting students, families and staff within a school community is imperative for my personal leadership so everyone can do and be their best selves. I believe in being a servant leader and advocate for all. I discovered Servant Leadership during my time at Indiana Wesleyan University. It has become the core of who I am as an educator, wife, mother and friend. This combined with my experience and knowledge gives me the confidence to dive into and serve intentionally with servanthood leadership to serve this Tribe of Excellence.

Bio
“Bloom where you’re planted” is a quote I take to heart. I graduated from Mississinewa Community Schools and have been an active part of Grant County ever since. I believe in the potential of every child that attends our school and want to help them grow by making genuine connections with the students and their families. I believe in taking time to help a student work through their feelings to understand how to manage each situation or problem they may need to solve. I like to think of myself as a coach for students rather than someone they fear.
